Adrian
Mears is originally from Sydney, born in 1969 in Australia and has
made Europe his home for the last 6 years. Back in Australia he was voted
"Best Australian Trombonist" and awarded "Best Jazz
Group". His reputation as soloist has lead him to perform with the
likes of McCoy Tyner`s Big Band, Bobby Shew, James Morrison, Don Pullen,
Eddie Palmeri, Paquito DiRivera, Barbara Dennerlein, Klaus Doldinger, Joe
Haider and many more. As a composer he has worked with several classical
brass ensembles including the Berlin Opera Symphony Orchestra. He has two
acclaimed recordings for ENJA records and has recorded with the "Scales
Brothers" for Blue Note Records after being awarded 1st prize in the
Blue Note Jazz Search 98. He is head of the trombone department in
Mannheim Conservatorium for the last 6 years and was also teaching for 2
years in Cologne Conservatorium in the absence of Jiggs Whigham. "All
For One"is a unique assortment of originals from duo to tentet.
