Born in New York and currently
residing there, Dan Rose first toured with The Paul Bley Band in the
early 70s and was very active in the New York loft scene. Peter Warren
is best known for his long association with Jack DeJohnette and Special Edition; Pianist Peter
Madsen has toured and recorded with such notables as Stan Getz, Stanley
Turrentine and Joe Lovano.Victor Lewis has become one of the busiest
drummers in New York and has worked with Woody Shaw, David Sanborn, Dexter Gordon and
Hubert Laws, to name a few. The tunes are all originals by Dan Rose and the music is as
diversified as the four musicians are. Everyone of them brings something special to the
music.Dan Rose with his clear, distinctive sound. Victor Lewis plays the drums as if they
were a piano. Peter Madsens extraordinary versatility and Peter Warrens warm
tone and ultrasupportive concept as a bass player combined to make this a highly enjoyable
session. |
